What did everyone do for New Years?… here’s what I did
In the Mountain town of south Lake Tahoe, home to the second anual Snowglobe Music festival another party has come around to help you bring in the new year the right way. With the word snow in the name its gotta be cold so bundle up, this a cold one. If you like dancing in the snow to your favorit edm artist, snowglobe is the place for you. This year was my second year going and I can honestly say, good job snowglobe you steeped it up this year. This may be a ammeter festival but they sure know who to bring to have a good time. This year snowglobe brought Deadmau5, Wiz kalifa, Zion I, Chromeo, Laidback Luke, Clockwork,Baauer, Big Gigantic and more. As hard as it was I managed to pick my top 4 favorite shows!
This weekend DEADMAU5 played an unhooked set, no cube, no head, just Joel Zimmerman in the flesh. It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that he killed it this weekend! This set was a little different from most he mixed other artist songs along with his but kept that mau5 style we all know and love. The middle of his set,my favorite part, He played some deep house but closed the show with the always beautiful,Strobe. It was a very Unique set, hooked or Unhooked this man knows what he doing!
ZION I played on the littlest stage at snowglobe, bad move snowglobe, half way through his set the whole left said of the tent was ripped of so at least 300 more people could see this set. This was a killer set he played all his classic and had the whole crowd singing along however he mixed it up a little this year. We all knew Zion I is a master at hip-hop,but who knew he could run that TRAP! Watch out Zion I could be taking over the trap scens.
LAIDBACK LUKE got the party stared with his Dirty Dutch House music on New Years Eve.He seemed to be a little in the dark but that didn’t stop him from getting the whole crowd bouncing. He delivered another classic Laidback Luke set that you can’t help but dance to! I don’t have much to say about this one other than it was pure amazing!
Last but not least, You know its going to be a FUNKY one when the electrofunk duo CHROMEO, is bring in the New Year. This show had me doing “fancy footwork” all night long and the songs are still stuck in my head.
Snowglobe has 3 stages and on the main stage while you enjoy the lights and music you can also see local skier’s and rider’s do a big air jump to the left of the stage. Snowglobe is a small festival in a small town, but it’s a HUGE party. So if you’re looking for something a little different for next year Snowglobe 2013 is a place to be! bundle up and Leave no Trace
