Mix: MOOMBAH FOREVER

moombah
Moombahton. What you say? No, that’s not a typo; it’s actually a genre of music and whether you know it or not you’ve probably listened to it in the last year. Yes, moombahton, which is essentially dutch house music slowed down to the tempo of reggaeton, has actually been around since about 2010 when Dave Nada (one half of Nadastrom) decided to slow Afrojack’s track “Moombah” down to the perfect pace: 108 beats per minute (well, actually moombahton can be up to 115 or 116 BPM, but enough about that!) The rest is history. Since then, and especially within the last year, moombahton has reached a much larger audience due in part a number of big name producers throwing it down in their sets and in the studio- notably Diplo, Skrillex, Knife Party, Porter Robinson, Datsik, and of course Dillon Francis.

With artists continuing to push this funky sound so far down the road it seems appropriate that one of the world’s best DJs, none other than Craze himself, spun together a set to celebrate the sexiest genre of electronic music: MOOMBAHTON. Without any further adieu, here’s the mix by the man himself! This compilation album will be available on the 17th.
