I started the month off right by buying my Big Gigantic New Years Eve ticket with only a few hours left before it sold out. Best decision I made all of 2012. The show took place in one of Chicago’s best venues, The Aragon Ballroom, the vibe was epic to say the least. . I arrived late to the show and missed mostly all of Manic Focus sadly. The other boss producer on this event’s card was none other then Grizz. Grizz had a great set full of some of his classics and some of the new songs including DigitalLiberation is Mad Freedom which personally for me was one of the highlights of the evening. This year Big Gigantic decided to bust out his new stage for his beloved family of ragers, and it was extremely sick to say the least. About two songs in he played a Kanye Wests Chi-City remix with his whole stage morphing into a Chicago flag background, which set the tone of awesome for the amount of epicness illuminating from the dubbed out saxophone sensation. Big G will be remembered in my book now for giving me one of the best NYE’s countdowns of my life, the money they spent on balloons and confetti may have cost more then their fantastic new stage! He played some of his classics like Light of Day but the highlights for me were the new saxed out remixes of newer bangers. Big Gigantic’s version of Crizzly’s Hard in the pain remix had brought the meaning of raging into a whole new level. Then when we thought that he couldn’t top that he melts the crowd’s faces off using his saxed out skills ( which he clearly made a trade with satan for) to give us his magnificent version of Knife Parties Bonfire! All in all, Big Gigantic threw one hell of a bash and I cant wait to see him get at it again.

Author: Bass-iLLI am from the South Side of Chicago. I attend every show and festival I possibly can! I make Charlie Sheen feel uncomfortable from the level of how "hard" I go at shows. In all my spare time i'm listening to Soundcloud for hours on end or messing with tunes of my own construction. I am the Rave. And ill run the trap till the day I fall.
