The first time I got a listen of this Australian sensation was in the days leading up to EDC: Las Vegas 2012. I was combing through the artists on the bill I hadn’t really heard of so I could start getting my schedule lined up for the massive three days, when I heard the rhythmic and hypnotizing track “The End”…I was instantly hooked and made Tommy Trash’s EDC set a must see. At EDC, he opened with “The End” getting the crowd raging instantly. Unfortunately halfway through his epic set, he is pulled off stage, the music stops, the crowd goes quiet and the now famous announcement is made that the stages are being shutdown due to the high winds blowing through the Nevada desert. A few months later, Tommy Trash is booked to play here in El Paso, TX, a second chance to get down with the madman from down under. CANCELED! Two hours before showtime due to complications with the venue.
This Electro House DJ and producer has been on the scene since 2006 and has put out over 50 productions to date. His most recent pair, “Tuna Fish” and “Truffle Pig”, were released at the end of last year on A-Trak’s Fools Gold label. Also known for his mixes, he’s put his own spin on some of the biggest EDM hits, including Deadmau5′s “The Veldt” and Zedd’s “Shave It”. He has not only become one of Australia’s hottest products, but one of the biggest EDM artists in the world. Earlier this month it was announced that Tommy Trash was will be playing at the Coachella 2013 Festival in Indio, California. I suggest that if you haven’t already, check out his music and make a trip to go see him live!
